We have our new sign and hope to have it installed in front of our new location this weekend.

We would like to take this opportunity on behalf of our Commandant Justin Asher, Vice Commandant Tom Unkle who has been filling in for Commandant Asher and the rest of the Detachment Officers to thank Commander Paul Barnhart of VFW Post #160 for their support in this move to their home. We look forward to a long and successful relationship with Post #160.

Also a BIG MARINE thanks to Mrs. Jane BARNES. Auxiliary member of Post #160 for her labor and contribution of a Marine and Woman Marine in full dress blues in which she crocheted and donated to the detachment. These were truly a labor of love.
They are on display in the post lounge. We are currently looking for glass covers to protect them from the elements. The size of the covers should be 7" dia. and 17" tall. If anyone can find them at a reasonable price, please let me know.

Danny Fischio has some red baseball type hats with our Det. Logo and Eagle, Glove and Anchor. These are great looking caps at $12.00 ea.

Bob Mimms, our original color guard commander is back with the detachment after a lengthy illness and has started the restructuring of the new unit. He has 4 Marines so far and is looking for a few more who can participate. He has a lot of great ideas and asks that anyone who is willing to assist him to call him at 410-974-0445. Memorial Day festivities are fast approaching. we will be conducting services with Post #160 at the Post home and also at he Crownsville Veterans Cemetery shortly thereafter.

VIETNAM VETS. There is a newspaper, The Maryland Communiqué for All Veterans, an Official Publication of the Trust for Maryland Vietnam Veterans, Inc. This is one of the finest, most informative newsletters I have seen in a long time. They are located at 7 Crum Rd., Walkersville, MD 21793, Phone 301-845-4296, Editor Kaye Gardner. Call her for info about getting on the mailing list. It is a full size newspaper full of military info pertaining strictly to your needs. (Medical, retirement, etc.)

The youngest man to be KIA in Vietnam, 7 June 69 was PFC Dan BULLOCK, Goldsboro, NC USMC, 15 yrs. of Brooklyn, NY. He was born 21 Dec, 53, lied about his age, forging his birth certificate, entering P.I. when he was only 14 yrs. Sad but true. For more info go to www.pfcdanbullockfoundation.org.

Seen a good movie lately??? I am not really a devout movie goer nor critic nor promoter. Just wanted to say that I seen "We Were Soldiers" and "Black Hawk Down". Two terrific movies. Go to a theater with "surround sound" for best results.

The red uniform cover with the Eagle, Globe and Anchor has increased in price to $30.00 including shipping. This is the only part of the uniform that you are required to wear. Everything else is optional. If you have not ordered one, please let us know at the next meeting.

NEXT MEETING: 25 MARCH, MONDAY 1900, VFW POST #160, DORSEY ROAD AND TRAFFIC DRIVE NEXT TO STATE HIGHWAY HQTRS . 2 MILES WEST OF I-97
